HELPING YOU GET OUt OF YOUR HEAD AND BACK INTO YOUR BODY

Hi THERE, i'm dr Kirsten Cloete

I’ve always been fascinated by the connection between the brain, body, and behaviour.

When I began my career as a Chiropractor over 18 years ago, my focus was purely physical - helping people recover from pain, injury, and later specialising in head trauma and post concussion syndrome.

Over the years I’ve been privileged to work with people from all walks of life, including elite athletes, founders and members of global royal families.

But it didn’t take long for me to realise that many of my patients, no matter who they were, weren’t just dealing with physical pain and tension - they were often carrying the weight of ongoing stress from everyday life.

Work pressure, social expectation, relationship strain, financial worries - the list goes on. This constant, low-level tension was being held in their bodies and impacting their health and recovery.

At the very same time, I was caught up in my own spiral of working harder, chasing more qualifications, saying yes to everything. On the surface, it looked like I had it all together. But behind the scenes, I was running on fumes.

Sometimes it takes your body stepping in to say what your mind doesn’t want to admit. For me, it came in the form of a shoulder injury that forced me out of work for months - and thats when it hit me how deeply burnt out I really was.

The combination of what I was witnessing in the clinic - and what I was living through myself - led me to look beyond traditional approaches.

That’s when I discovered techniques like Emotional Freedom Technique, breathwork, and the tools of coaching.

Simple, powerful techniques that harnessed the power of the mind-body connection, helped me to cut through the mental noise, regulate my nervous system, and feel like myself again.

This experience was a turning point for me.

Because true wellbeing isn’t just physical, but includes our mental, emotional and spiritual health too.

We can’t expect our stress to melt away with green juices and pilates alone (although admitedly I am a big fan of both of these!)

My work has evolved over the years, but my mission has remained the same: to help people better understand their bodies, make sense of their symptoms, and feel empowered with the knowledge and practical tools to support lasting health, resilience and performance.

Today, I bring that mission to life through personalised chiropractic care, online education and workplace wellbeing—helping people feel more confident in their health and better equipped to support themselves every day.

MY JOURNEY

20+ YEARS IN A SNAPSHOT

From hands-on chiropractic and cranial work to integrative medicine and nervous system support, my professional journey has always been about one thing: helping people experience more freedom in both body and mind.

Completed a Master’s Degree in Chiropractic at Durban University of Technology, South Africa. Volunteered in rural communities, sparking a lifelong passion for compassionate, holistic care. Drawn to the brain-body connection as the heart of Chiropractic, I was inspired by its core philosophy: the body has an innate ability to heal when interference is removed.

2001 - 2007

2008 - 2016

Relocated to the UK and deepened my clinical practice. Discovered and trained in Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), becoming a Certified Advanced SOT Practitioner and Craniopath through SOTO Europe. This comprehensive approach - integrating cranial (skull and bones of the face), paediatric, visceral, and structural techniques - transformed my work with clients, including with athletes, children, and chronic pain patients. During this time, I began to notice a recurring theme: physical adjustments alone were not always enough. Unprocessed emotional stress was often at the root of persistent symptoms - but I didn’t yet have the tools to address it.

A personal turning point. Following the sudden loss of a close friend combined with a chronic shoulder injury that forced me into months of rest, I experienced burnout for the first time. It was a wake-up call - a moment that made me reassess both my life and my approach to health.

2016

Began exploring Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and energy psychology, initially for my own healing. What began with free YouTube videos soon turned into a life-enhancing practice that resonated deeply with my background in neuroanatomy and nervous system health. I was fascinated by the research on EFT’s impact on stress, memory, cortisol, and immunity -  and knew I’d found something that could help clients break free from long-standing emotional and physical patterns.

2016 - 2020

Formally trained and certified in Integrated EFT, NLP, and Transformational Coaching, this period marked a key evolution in my work - integrating structural and emotional approaches to healing.
I also began teaching Craniofascial Dynamics as lead educator at The Howat Institute in Oxford, training practitioners in this breakthrough technique for head trauma and post-concussion care.

2020 - 2025

With nearly two decades of experience in integrative health, my work has grown beyond the clinic to include teaching, online education and workplace wellbeing. Whatever the setting, my goal remains the same: to help people better understand their bodies and feel confident supporting their health every day.
